Nostalgia Tuesday – The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Watch List: 1 (First seen anime)

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

That’s classified information.

Season 1:

Ah, yes. This anime. The first anime I’ve watched as an otaku. This anime was great, a mystery anime where the main character was a god who had every one of her wishes fulfilled. It didn’t really appeal to me as much as it has to other, but it’s still pretty good.

Season 1 OP:

Bouken Desho Desho?

This opening is appealing. I loved the animation, and the song was great too. It summed up the whole anime in just one song.

Season 1 ED:

Hare Hare Yukai

Is any comment really even necessary for this ending? I knew about this song way before I saw this anime. It’s probably the most well known ending out there. It’s good anyway, but it’s just a bit overrated.

Season 2:

Ah, the RickRoll of the year. What the fuck was Kyoani thinking? The endless eight was just mindfuck to the biggest degree.

You will never get that “I was staring at a game on TV between schools from the same prefecture with absolutely nothing to do with me,” out of your head after this. I actually dropped this series halfway through, and then picked it up years later.

Season 2 OP:

This is the opening, not as good at the first season’s but still okay.

Instead, this should’ve been the opening:

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya:

A LOT better than season two. This made up for all the bullshit that season two gave me. Human Nagato is cute too.

This movie was so well done. I could tell there was a lot of hard work put into it. It all makes sense too; considering there was a massive timefuck, and we all know that timefucks tend to get confusing. However, this movie was awesome, and deserves a 10/10.

Asahina Mikuru:

Fuck you, Yukitards. I like Mikuru.
