Overview: Spring 2011

08 Jul

Amazing season.

A Channel

Hidan no Aria

Hanasaku Iroha

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai

Astrarotte no Omocha

Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi

The World God Only Knows II

Everyone can agree there’s a lot of amazing shows that came out in the spring Anime season. Two of the best anime I have ever seen come from this season and have rocked this season. Undoubtedly, that would be Ano Hana and Hanasaku Iroha. Those two shows are personal favorites and will always be remembered.

I got a little behind in finishing the other shows, and the rest had a four episode delay before finishing. The World God Only Knows II was boring in the beginning, and got really good during the last two arcs. Gosick went on and got really good at the end. I happened to watch four bad shows this season though, as a result of missing out on Nichijou and Ao no Exorcist, which have both been recommended to me a lot. A Channel got boring after a while. Nothing really happened, and it started to seem like it was trying to copy K-On. Hidan no Aria was disappointing and didn’t make sense at times. Astrarotte no Omocha started and ending boring, however had a little good episode content. Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi felt like it had the most boring plot possible.

Overall, there were some good and some bad shows this season.

Riko Mine:

Who liked Aria anyway? Riko is what it’s all about.

Hinata Ibuki:’

Pfft. Main characters are laaaammeee. Characters like this make a bad series watchable.

Victorique de Blois:

She got better this season. I like her a bit more now, but less than everyone else.

This was one of the big differences between K-On and A Channel. This character was amazing and a loved her personality a lot.

Jun Nagase:

Screw Elsie. Last arc characters are always best. I want a teacher like this.

Haqua du Lot Hurminium:

This made TWGOK2 a lot more enjoyable for me, personally. She didn’t get nearly enough screen time though.

Astrarotte Ygvar:

Looking though things, I’ve noticed the large fanbase this character has received. The whole family tree thing going on in the anime really threw me off though.

Ohana Matsumae:

She was strange, but I didn’t personally like her as much as everyone else did.

Naruko Anjou:’

Overrated, but still nice and neat.

In order of appeal:

Ano Hana

Hanasaku Iroha
